While beauty is often “in the eye of the
beholder,” there was no mistaking the beauty of both the bride and her wedding
décor last April at the Fairmont Copley Hotel in downtown Boston. An icon
of hotel luxury (in the city) for the past 100 years, the hotel’s Venetian room
was the backdrop for Lindsey’s luxe wedding reception.
Prior to the festivities kicking off, the Orchids N’ Blooms
team arrived during the pre-ceremony photo shoot to present Miss Lindsey with
her bridal party and personal flowers.
The look on her face when she first saw her bridal bouquet was, by far,
second-to-none. An arrangement of white Hydrangea, Mini Calla
Lilies and Phalaenopsis Orchids was fashioned into a stunning, modern take on the
classic cascade bouquet. The stem of the bouquet was
also adorned with just the right amount of crystal bling - an accent found
throughout the wedding venue as well.

An almost exact replica of the main bouquet (image immediately below) was designed so that it could be thrown during the reception. Such a shame to have to toss this beauty...;o)
The studio designed attendant bouquets that came as close to
the wedding colors (black and white) as possible; simple Mini Callas in “black”
(technically a very deep violet) and white provided the perfect contrast
against one another. The mothers’ posey
bouquets (not shown) mirrored the main bouquets in simplicity and style.
The pre-function and dinner spaces were the absolute
highlight of the evening! The ornately
gilded walls and crystal chandeliers set the stage for sheer grandiosity, so
the challenge was to create table décor that did not compete with the spaces’
already lavish charm. Coincidentally,
Lyndsey was able to find the perfect cracked glass vessels for us to design her
centerpieces in. We used the same flora
as in the personal flowers, however the addition of Peach Blossom branches
brought in a slight hue of pink – in other words: Perfection.
To sum it all up, aren’t Boston weddings (in the Springtime!) just the best
ever? ;o)
A special thanks goes out to the Stewart Smith Photography team for their expert documentation and
for giving us permission to share some of their beautiful images with you. Photos without credit/watermark are courtesy of Orchids N' Blooms.
Best wishes Lindsey and Michael!
